A series of bike trips through Cavendish, Chester, Ludlow, Weston, Plymouth, Mt Holly and Weathersfield

Follow VT Rte 100 north to VT Rte 125. Turn West toward Middlebury Gap. Take a picnic.

Healdville Trail
5.9 miles round trip, vertical rise 1900 ft. to summit of Okemo Mountain (3340 ft. elevation).
Trail crosses two small brooks and features several lookouts offering sweeping views of local ski area and a fire tower,
reconditioned by the State of Vermont, for hikers. Tower affords views of the White Mountains to the northeast,
including Mt. Washington; the Green Mountains, north, west, and south;
Ascutney, to the east; and Monadnock to southeast.

Trail is approximately 5 miles northwest of the inn off VT Rte.103. Turn south on Station Road (beside Wright Construction Co.).
Follow until you cross railroad tracks. Parking on left.
White Rocks - on the Long/Appalachian Trail*
3.5 miles round trip, elevation change of 1450 ft.
Excellent views of and from White Rocks Cliff - a strenuous climb. Begin on the blue-blazed Keewaydin Trail, go right at the fork, right again where it joins the Long Trail. Follow the white blazes to 3 rock cairns in a small clearing. A sign marks the White Rock Cliff Trail (blue blazes).

Approximately 15 miles northwest of the inn off VT Rte.140. (Follow VT Rte.103 west to VT Rte.140.) Take Sugarhill Road (dirt) to "Green Mountain National Forest Picnic Area at White Rocks".
* The combined Long & Appalachian Trails can also be
accessed from VT Rte.103 and VT Rte.11
Lowell Lake Trail
3.5 miles round trip, vertical rise 20 ft., begins on the dam
Large selection of wildlife and great views across the lake. Good snowshoe and cross-country ski terrain.
( Estimated hiking time 2.5 hr. Add one hour in winter.)
Approximately 20 miles south of the inn off VT Rte.11. Take Lowell Lake Road, turn right at the barn.
Weathersfield Trail
6 miles round trip, vertical rise 2250 ft. to the summit of Ascutney Mountain (3150 ft. elevation)
Beginning with log stairs, the blue-blazed trail follows varied terrain to the white-blazed Old Weathersfield Trail. Follow this trail past Gus's Lookout and bear right where it forks, continuing to the antennae-covered summit.

Approximately 15 miles east of the inn off VT Rt.131. Approx three miles east of the Rte.131/Rte.106 junction, look for sign noting "Weathersfield Trail". Take Cascade Falls Road north (left), bear left at the fork, then right into an Ascutney State Park parking lot.
Vista Trail in Plymouth State Park
1.5 miles round trip, vertical rise 200 ft.
Trail leads to an overlook of the lakes area.

Approximately 5 miles north of the inn off VT Rt.100. Take Plymouth Tyson Road east 1 mile to Boy Scout Camp Road. Turn left to Plymouth State Park.
